Application Process (City)

We’re here to make your path to summer camp as exciting and stress-free as possible. Here’s how it all works…

The following process is for City Summer Camp. For the Traditional Camp process click here.

1 - Choose Your Application

Start by completing our online application form and selecting your application method:

New Camp Application
Returning to Camp Application
Direct Placement Application

2 - Pay Your Application Fee

Choose your payment option:

Pay in full, unlock a big discount!
Or split into 3 instalments, starting with a £49 Stage 1 deposit or $99 if applying from outside of the UK and EU.

Simple and flexible — your choice!

3 - Complete Your Skilled Summers Application

We’ll guide you through setting up your official Skilled Summers profile.

Before your Skilled Summers interview, make sure to:

Fill out application
Upload a photo album
Include 2 references

4 - Your Skilled Summers Interview

This is a friendly 45-minute chat to get to know you better — nothing to stress about!

What happens next?

Pass ✅ = You move forward
Not this time ❌ = We’ll refund your application fee minus a small admin fee: (£10 if applying from the UK or EU or $20 if applying from the rest of the world)

5 - Submit a Video On Your Application

Once you’ve passed, it’s time to:

Submit a short 2 minute video highlighting why you feel you would be a good fit for camp

We guide you how to do this to make your video stand out against the rest!

6 - Tamwood Summer Camp Interview

We’ll submit your application to Tamwood, and they’ll contact you directly to arrange an interview date and time.
Outcomes

You may be offered a role on the spot
Or receive a response within a few days

Please note:
In rare cases where Tamwood does not proceed with your application, you can either receive a refund of your application fee (minus a £10/$20 admin and processing fee), or we can support you in matching you with a traditional summer camp instead.

7 - You've Been Hired

Congratulations — you're going to camp!

Next steps:

Upload your camp contract
If you’re going to Tamwood USA, we’ll process your DS-2019 visa paperwork (starting January 1st of the camp year)
If you’re heading to Tamwood Canada, you’ll attend a live webinar with a Canadian Immigration Officer (organised by Skilled Summers)
Pay your Stage 3 fee if you’ve chosen instalments
