Costs for applicants from UK & Ireland

At Skilled Summers, we recognise the importance of being as transparent as possible, especially when it comes to our program fees. That’s why what you see below is everything you need to consider to join us this summer. Don’t forget, you won’t spend a penny while on camp so your salary is yours to enjoy when travelling. It also helps cover the cost to take part in the program, too!

What You Pay

Pay in full £300 or

Pay in stages £375

This amount is broken down into three simple payments;

  • Stage 1 – £49 Application Fees
  • Stage 2 – £99 Acceptance Fee
  • Stage 3 – £227 Placement Fee

Please note: If you are invited to officially apply for the program, your placement at camp in 2025 is GUARANTEED.

Why are there fees for me to pay?These fees cover time spent and actions taken by the Skilled Summers team to process your application and find your dream placement for the summer.

What You Get

  • Placement at a premium camp location in the USA
  • Minimum GUARANTEED Salary of $2000
  • Comprehensive Medical Insurance (for the duration of your camp contract)
  • Meals (for the duration of your camp contract)
  • Accommodation (for the duration of your camp contract)
  • Pre-Departure Orientation (to ensure you are fully prepared ahead of your placement at camp)
  • 24hr Emergency Helpline in the USA
  • Full guided support throughout your application

Third Party Costs

  • Flights £350 - £600 (dependant on arrival/departure destination. This price range is a guide)
  • Embassy Visa Fee $185
  • ACRO Police Check £55
  • Travel Insurance (We recommend you take out travel insurance to cover personal effects, delayed flights, lost baggage etc)

Costs for applicants from Other Countries

What You Pay

Pay in full $500 or

Pay in stages $650

This amount is broken down into three simple payments;

  • Stage 1 – $99 Application Fee
  • Stage 2 – $150 Acceptance Fee
  • Stage 3 – $401 Placement Fee
