As a Rocketry Instructor at camp, you’ll inspire the next generation of engineers by teaching campers how rockets work and bringing STEM learning to life through hands-on projects.
You’ll spend your summer guiding campers as they design, build and safely launch model rockets while introducing them to the principles of aerodynamics, propulsion and flight. As a Game Designer, your job will be to help immerse campers into the extremely popular world of game design.
Most campers will be highly familiar with certain games consoles such as the Xbox, Playstation or Nintendo, or download and play games on an iPad or iPhone, but they may not have ever considered how fun and rewarding it can be to design their own game to play.
Dependent on camp, they may ask if you have any examples of the games you have designed and for what platforms (PC/Mac/iPhone)
Taking on a role as Web Designer at camp is perfect for the individual looking for a career in IT or computer science and what better way to gain invaluable experience for your CV than to do it abroad in the US of A.
You will need to have the knowledge and experience so you are able to pass on skills to campers looking to create their own website on a topic of their choice. Experience in teaching others is not essential, as long as you are clear and campers of all abilities understand your instructions.
General camp types will be on the lookout for Web Designers or you may be hired to work at a specialist web design and coding summer camp. It really depends on a camps specific staffing requirements.
