Cat worked as a ‘barn chick’ (aka riding instructor!) at Hayo-Went-Ha in Michigan and has worked in the summer camp recruitment industry ever since. Having spent many months travelling around the States and visiting all different types of camps, Cat really is the best person to link you up with your perfect camp! When not working hard recruiting the perfect staff for camp, you can find Cat riding and competing with her horses, Jonny and Po.
“If working at camp doesn’t become the best experience of your life, I don’t know what will! There really is nothing that compares.”
Bart has been a Rock climbing instructor at Frenchwoods Sports and Arts in upstate New York. He got stuck in with helping the campers up and down the climbing wall and racing them down the zipline. He powered through pre- and post-camp and has earned the award of Male Counselor of the Summer. Not much changes when Bart is not recruiting, as you can find him at rock climbing and gymnastics centres dotted around the UK in pursuit of a role as a stuntman.
“I started out thinking I was going to just teach rock climbing but ended up performing in the circus show and catching people on the flying trapeze! You truly never know what opportunities there are at camp until you go yourself!”
Georgia is a lover of the outdoors and all things nature. Georgia grew up riding horses and this passion took her on many journeys but her favourite of all time was teaching horse riding at children’s summer camps in the US. Now a proud Mom to two beautiful girls, Georgia currently lives completely off grid in the Catalan mountains in Spain. When she’s not working for Skilled Summers, you can usually find her in her vegetable garden, chatting to her pet goats or making mud pies with her daughters.
“Working at camp was simply lifechanging and I am so grateful I can now help others realise their dreams too by teaching their specific skills abroad”
Linzi spent five wonderful summers at camp as Head of Waterfront & Lifeguard Instructor (as well as one summer as a bike counsellor, taking 10 13 year olds on a 100 mile bike trip!) at Hayo-Went-Ha in Michigan and has worked in the camp recruitment industry for the last 9 years. Linzi will more than likely be the first person you’ll talk to on your camp journey and, when she’s not at her desk, you’ll find her exploring in her self-built campervan Stevie.
“Camp really is life-changing and the possibilities are endless. I want to help as many people have the best experience at camp, just like I did.”
