A typical day started early, waking the children for a day of fun activities. We organized various activities, from sports, arts and crafts to water sports and baking. The nights were just as special, with campfires, songs and stories that created a strong community bond. As a counselor, I had to be a role model for the kids, but it also felt like being friends with them. I do feel like I learned a lot, It taught me patience, empathy and leadership skills.
Although it was challenging at times, my time as a summer camp counselor has shaped me into a stronger, more empathetic person. It has taught me that small things can bring immense satisfaction. It was a summer full of love, adventure and growth, and I will cherish those memories forever.
And besides being busy all day with my teaching hobbies that I love to do. I also made so many new friends, you become close with the other camp counselors so quickly it feels like one big family. Everyone I’ve met is so positive, enthusiastic and loves to travel just like me. I met camp counselors from all over the world.
It is absolutely wonderful to get to know people from all over the world. These global encounters bring diversity, new perspectives and enriching experiences. It opens windows to different cultures, traditions and ways of thinking. These international interactions enriched my life with friendships, knowledge and a deeper sense of global citizenship.
